National Geographic World Legacy Awards
We are excited to announce Abercrombie & Kent Philanthropy has been selected as one of three finalists for the National Geographic World Legacy Award for the category “Engaging Communities.” This award category honors organizations who provide direct and tangible economic and social benefits that improve local livelihoods, including training and capacity building, fair wages and benefits, community development, health care and education.
More than 150 entries were received for this prestigious award, representing 51 countries and six continents. The judging process includes a site inspection, and we had the opportunity to showcase our work in Nakatindi Village, Zambia and in the Masai Mara, Kenya. The winners will be announced on stage at the World Legacy Awards ceremony on March 10, 2016, during ITB Berlin. Finalists and winners will also be featured in National Geographic Traveler magazine and other National Geographic media.
