Our Mission
We believe our partnership with local communities is critical to sustain the fabric of the diverse destinations we visit. We are deeply committed to the Four Pillars of Abercrombie & Kent Philanthropy:
Our Vision
We help nature to thrive and cultures to flourish by positively impacting lives and livelihoods in the communities where A&K guests travel. Through dedicated strategic investments in education, conservation, health care, and enterprise, we inspire our guests and staff to actively support our philanthropic endeavors.
Our History
Abercrombie & Kent Philanthropy (AKP), a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is the philanthropic arm of Abercrombie & Kent (A&K). The organization traces its beginnings back to 1982 when Jorie Butler Kent, AKP Co-Chairman, together with A&K Founder, Chairman and CEO Geoffrey Kent, first raised funds for conservation efforts in the Masai Mara National Reserve of Kenya.
Today, AKP carries on A&K’s social and environmental commitments on a global scale with approximately 40 projects on all seven continents. Guests of A&K have the opportunity to visit these projects and support the further development of AKP’s investments in the natural and cultural heritage of diverse destinations around the world.
Recognition
Abercrombie & Kent is a proud recipient of a 2020 Family Travel Association Honors Award in recognition of the outstanding work AKP has done to support the local communities where we operate around the world.
